Walk Prague.
Hear its story.

Prago is an iPhone guide to the historic centre of Prague. Put your headphones in, press one gold button and it tells you what you are walking past. The map lives on the phone, so it works with no signal at all.

iPhone, iOS 17 and later. Not on the App Store yet.

A map that works in a tunnel.

The map of Prague is inside the app. There is nothing to download on the street and nothing to wait for. Every place sits on it as a small dot in one of three colours: landmarks, history, culture and views.

One gold button. Press it, walk, and the story starts when you reach something.

Every place has a face.

A photo with its credit printed under it, what you are looking at in a sentence, then a short story and a long one. Press Play and keep your eyes on the building.

Heart the ones you want to come back to and leave yourself a note. Both stay on the phone.

Even the streets talk.

Celetná was the first stretch of the Royal Route. Franz Kafka lived on it twice. When you walk along a street and no sight is close, its own short story plays.

There are street stories for the streets of Prague 1. They are off until you switch them on in Settings.

Find it before you get lost.

Search places, streets and guides, or list what is near you. Your position is used on the iPhone only.

No account. No tracking.

There is no sign-in, no analytics and no ads. Your favourites, notes and walked streets never leave the phone. You can export or erase all of it in Settings, Privacy.

Take it apart.

On the Walk tab four things float above the map: the category chips, the map buttons, the gold button and the tab bar. On recent iPhones they are liquid glass, so the map shows through them and nothing sits in the way of the street.

Scroll to lift them off.

235 streets,
each with a line
to say.

Prague 1 is full of streets named after bakers, printers, carp and kings. Touch a plate to read what Prago says about it.

Celetná

Celetná is the first part of the Royal Route, along which coronation processions once walked from the Powder Gate towards Prague Castle. The name comes from the bakers who made braided rolls called calta.

Three things you do all day.

Tap a dot. The place opens and you can pull it up to read.
Drag and pinch. The map is vector, so it stays sharp as you zoom.
Search a street and read its story, or press Listen.

Every screen,
all the way round.

Dark at night.

Prago follows your iPhone. Move across the phone to see the same screen both ways, or pick another screen.

What it is not.

  • It is not a tickets or booking app.
  • It has no live tram times.
  • It has no accounts, no ads and no social feed.
  • It does not need a server, so there is nothing to go down while you are standing in front of the Powder Tower.

Prago is not on the App Store yet, and this page will say so until it is.
